I am a male in stater wanting the best EDUCATION not party scene the Volunteer state can provide

What are you interested in studying?

I am really interested in a create your own major track, but if a public Tennessee university doesn’t offer that I would be interested in psychology because my goal is to be a counseling psychologist

Look into Tech, ETSU, and UTChatt. I am assuming, by tour original post, you are not interested in UTK.

It isn’t that I am not interested in UTK, but I read somewhere that at Knoxville most classes aren’t taught by professors but teaching assistants which is a turn off if true - When I said not party school I was mainly pointing that at MTSU though

UTK, I would figure that with most gen ed courses that would be true. You may want to check into the honors school if you qualify. I would also add APSU as well. And MTSU, yes party, but they all have their party scenes. Good luck.

I will check With all the schools you mentioned I am class rank number 1 for my high school heading into my junior year so I hope I would qualify for honors programs thanks for the advice if you have any other opinions please let me know

bump…

You should dig a bit deeper. There are small communities of studious kids who are not party animals at most big schools like UTK. Ask a current student to find out if UTK is a possible “Like” for you.

I realize that this is a little late however, after two years at UTK (mostly gen eds), I have not had a single class that was taught by a teaching assistant. At the most, typically for larger science courses, you will have a TA oversee your lab session; I have not sat through a single lecture ever delivered by someone other than a full professor/lecturer.
