When do all of the possibly lower scores take this test usually? looking for the best curve = D

Take it often.

If your in need of the “best curve”, you’ll probably be one of those “lower scores” you mentioned.

ahh Jersey not true. Simply looking for a time to study the least amount. A lenient curve is advantageous no?

i think i heard January somewhere

When you are good and confident it’s always a good time to take the test. It’s not easy to game the system. It has a way of biting you in the butt when you least expect it. Remember: He/she who misses the least number of questions wins. Always.

lol to J above me. I’ve heard a lot of different things, a lot of them conspiracy theories, but I’ll just share the most plausible.
Supposedly November is good because the last-minute seniors who probably aren’t going to get higher scores the second time around anyway opt for then…hoping to squeeze it into their applications. Or December, like I did this year lol. But if you think about it, January can be pretty good too. Right after the exhausting AP, or just normal midterm exams…that can be pretty draining for your potential opponents. So try then?

Then I’ve heard that March isn’t too good. Because a lot of early-acting juniors are determined to take it then…they’ve also probably studied plentifully for it too. Same with the other dates.

But everyone I know who’s done well has taken it December…that’s why I tried that. Did I help lol?

J not necessarily true. Imagine getting a -3 or so in writing and that being a 670 just because the people that took it got mostly -0,-1,-2. -3 Is by no means missing a lot of questions at all, and yet the curve just kicked your ass. This goes for any section really.

And why would there be a higher chance of that happening on any given date? Remember that about 1.5 million people take the test every year.

December I think is best. I just took mine, and now I don’t hafta worry about it :]. And it gives you more time for the rest of the year to retake SAT or do SAT II. Yeeeeeeeeeauh.
