I see there is an old thread about frats at Vandy but I was wondering if anyone can give me an updated version. What are the best houses for partying and have the best looking girls roll through? Or any other things you think that make the top houses the best. Thanks!

Honestly, instead of trying to figure which fraternities are “best,” you should probably focus on getting accepted first. These threads are utterly worthless since it will be abundantly clear once people reach campus which houses fit them best. Talking beforehand is just wasting everyone’s time.

Totally agree. A fraternity is only as good as its brothers and 25% of them change each year. However, what is somewhat consistent is that “birds of a feather” do tend to flock together. Fraternities do tend to recruit those that have the same interests as they do. So what is considered the “best” fraternity for you, may be the “worse” for some one else.

If you are rushing this fall, visit them all, decide on a couple you think you would like to join and go for it. The brothers like to recruit friendly, outgoing, confident (not cocky)recruits that will be an asset to the fraternity. Show some commitment on your part, but remember to keep your priorities in order. If you screw up academically, you won’t be allowed to pledge and you will digging yourself out of a hole for several semesters. I know a couple of very good candidates that the fraternities were fighting over that didn’t make the academic requirement.

I’m graduating this year and the last 3 years have been outstanding, I found the “best” fraternity for me. Good Luck!
