Best way to get in?

Hey everyone,

To make a long story short, I'm currently taking classes at a community college after a year and a half at a small private university. Come fall, I'm hoping to transfer to a larger school. So, I have found several schools I'm interested in and applied to two of them so far. One of them denied me admission, but sent a letter saying that if I have any additional materials that should be considered for admission, that I should send it in and they will take another look. My question is this: If I do really well this semester at community college and boost my GPA, would they ACTUALLY reevaluate the admission decision? Or is it a lost cause at this point?

Also, I'm thinking of waiting until I finish this semester to apply to my other schools in order to maximize my chances of getting in. Does this sound like a good strategy? Would I be better off just applying now? The only thing that concerns me about waiting is that I will not have very much time to then visit the schools and make a decision.

Thanks all!

Moderator: Not sure why my thread got closed before, I put in the admissions section because it's about admissions, but please move this one to the right section if this is not the appropriate place.
