I thought community colleges basically admitted anyone?

The local community college I applied to has not admitted me yet. All my paperwork, transcripts, proof of residence, etc., has been received by the college. I'm wondering why they are dragging their feet in admitting me? Orientation was today, so I already missed out on that. The deadline for registration is August 8. I already called the school, and they really didn't give me an answer as to why they haven't admitted me. They just said they were in the process of approving my application, that my information is being evaluated. I asked if the process would be finished by the registration deadline, and they couldn't give me an answer. I don't get what the holdup is?

I know you guys are not my school and can't give me particulars on why I haven't been admitted yet. This is just very frustrating. Classes are filling up quickly. Some of the ones I wanted to take are filled up, so I missed out. I keep talking to the same person every time I call (and I'm always polite), but she's really going to get to know me, because I'm going to call every day until August 8th. And there's no way they're going to stall and make me pay a late registration fee when I got my paperwork in in ample time. I don't really know what I'm asking by posting this. I guess I'm just venting. Do you all think they'll accept me by the registration deadline? lol

Go down to the school and get it straightened out.
Stop calling and get answers in person.
