Applying for the fall semester, after the spring semester?

I'm at community college now and I planned on applying to a few public states schools after this fall semester, to transfer to next fall. I took three classes and I got a D in one of them.
So now I'm probably going to have to apply in May, after the spring semester. I'm a little hesitant though. I'm scared that I won't get any housing or I won't get in to any of the schools, even though all of the schools I'm applying to have rolling admissions, and the deadline for transfers is June 1 (I think).

I need guidance, suggestions, and help please!

Have you talked with the transfer counselors at your CC about this? If you are looking at the public Us in the state where your CC is located (or at public Us in other states that they send a lot of students to), they should be able to give you a better idea about the housing situation.

I talked to the admissions people of 2 of the colleges. The first college told me they wouldn’t ‘advise me applying that late’ and the other college told me that the deadline is in january, but it was a student who told me, so i don’t know if she’s right, so i emailed the director of admissions.

i would go ahead and apply early. you can always send them updated transcripts if you’re worried about the D, you can send it to them after you’ve raised your grade.

Cloudman, you are right. But I’m just scared that they won’t give me a chance for doing that, and they will just reject me. If I apply now though, I am going to write an essay, explaining to them why I got the D, and that I’m retaking the class in the spring semester.

Talk about a pinch haha yea that idea sounds good. What three schools are you applying to and what are their requirements?

I live in PA and am applying to Bloomsburg university, East Stroudsburg university, and Lock Haven university. They are all public state schools. A GPA of 2.0 is considered for these state schools, but at Bloomsburg a 2.5 GPA is preferred. I have a 2.8 GPA.
As for my transcript, I have one D, one C+, two C’s, four B’s, and 3 A’s. Even though I only have one D, I have had to retake 3 classes in past semesters, were I received 2 D’s and 1 F. I improved my grades because I got B’s when I retook the classes (except for a math that I had to retake; I got a C).

I think you should be alright since your gpa is 2.8 and it is higher than the preferred gpa of your colleges. Don’t worry so much haha

Well, I agree Cloudman.

Thanks Aprillove :)

Thank you cloudman and aprillove.
