I took the SAT in January and didn't get the score I wanted.

660 CR
650 M
680 W (9 essay)
TOTAL: 1990

I want to retake in May or June and get a 2100, with 700 in every section.

What's the best way to improve each section?
And I did take a prep course which I felt helped, but the thing is I didn't spend enough time prepping. On CC, I see people who say they spend 8+ hours a week.. I would say I only spend about 1-2 hours a week, more when I took practice tests.

For CR, I just got DH which I'll read, what else I should do?

For M, I really, really need a good prep book. I'm in Calc so I've forgotten a lot of the basic things. According to my score report, I especially need help with Numbers & Operations, and Geometry & Measurement.

For W, essay help? I got 4 MC wrong on writing, so I think it was the essay that really hurt my score.

And do you think it's possible to get a 2100+ in 3 months? I'm willing to spend a lot more time studying for the SAT, but nothing insane lol.

It seems very possible. Practicing either on your own or in a group is a good idea; apparently the “Blue Book”, the 2nd edition SAT guide from the College Board is a good way to learn. Try to find what your weakest areas are in.

If you read “How to write a 12 Essay in 10 Days,” that alone should increase writing score to 700.

Math can be improved with Gruber’s Math Workbook

CR is the most difficult; there are also threads on CC on how to improve these. For starters, buy the Direct Hists books; they’re the most efficient vocab books.

I’ve increased my scores within two months from 1950 to 2100 ^^

At the beginning I’ve had the same Math score like you and what simply helped me was to do lots of Maths questions out of the Blue Book and the Official Online Course and afterwards revise them. I also wrote down some rules, e.g. how to deal with triangles etc. This helped me to increase my score to 710 (with only 3 mistakes in the whole Maths part).

With writing it was basically the same… Just going through all the writing problems I stumpled upon and trying to get a “feeling” for what sounds right and what sounds wrong.

To increase my CR score I basically went through a few passages. What I probably should have done is learning some of those 328423949234-most-important-SAT-words-vocabulary lists. But honestly, I didn’t feel like learning vocab ^^ Therefore, I’ve basically have had only wrong answers in the sentence completion parts (I am an international with English as a second language… thus, my vocab simply isn’t THAT profound) Well, it was enough to score 670 (with 30pt increase) and just 8 mistakes in the difficult sentence completions questions XD

So, if you feel like it, learn thousands of vocabulary and probably the twenty words that are asked for on the SAT are included :)

But an increase is definitely possible and the Blue Book (+ Online Course maybe) is probably all you need.
