Best way to prep for GMAT after having been out of school for awhile?

Hey guys,

My dad recently decided to go back to school part time to get his master's degree so that in a few years he can start teaching Accounting courses at a community college.

He has been a licensed CPA for over 20 years, so needless to say he has been out of school for awhile. I was wondering if any of you could give me some recommendations on what is the best way to prepare (specific prep books, online test sources, etc) for the GMAT after having been out of school for an extended period of time. The school he wishes to attend requires he receive a 1000 composite score, which I know isn't very high, but I would appreciate any advice on how to prepare for it.

Thanks.

Er sorry, made an error on the score requirement. The required score is a 500 (I was looking at the GRE requirement by mistake).

if it’s only a 500, I think just getting the official guide books (from the makers of the GMAT) should be enough. There’s three of them, one comprehensive one, a math one and a verbal one - definitely get them all.

If he takes a practice test (from the gmat website) and figures out that he needs to do more in terms of studying, then manhattan gmat is your best bet
