I am getting some grant money from the WIA program threw the department of commerce & labor to go back to school and get my BAS. I have to be able to complete the program in 2 years, that is the only catch. I am one semester away from my AAS. In order to complete the program in the 2 year requirement, I need to try to CLEP out of about 3 classes, to avoid completely overloading myself with classes. I am fairly certain I will have no problems passing College Algebra as I have spent a month going over it for the COMPASS test, and did very well in math in HS, I just need a refresher. As for the other CLEP tests, I am considering chemistry, & possibly humanities or psychology. Does anyone has a recomended study guide? Do I get the study guides for those specific area's, or the general CLEP study guide that is susposed to cover all of the CLEP tests? Has anyone taken these tests only using a study guide to prepare for them, or have you needed text books as well? Any input would be greatly apperciated.

The official CLEP book from CollegeBoard is a good investment. My sons have found the REA books w/CD to be helpful, too.

My older son is trying to finish his AA this year. He took 17 credits at the community college and 12 credits in CLEP last semester. It was doable. He didn’t seem overworked or stressed. He clep’d Sociology, Psychology, and American Literature.

Watch out for CLEP in any science classes. Usually, these are allowed only 3 credits because they do not include any lab experience. Our college requires 8 credits of science and they won’t accept chemistry or biology CLEP at all unless a student successfully passes a lab science course at their school. Check your school’s policies carefully. Talk to an advisor about your plan.

Here is a site with resources for study:
[Office Solutions - Accelerated CLEP Study](<a href=“Webs.com has been shut down: Find out more”>Webs.com has been shut down: Find out more)

Good luck!

For Humanities and Psychology, and any others you want which they have, use [CLEP Test Preparation | 100% Exam Pass Rate Guaranteed!](http://www.speedyprep.com). This is my favorite study resource.

The CLEP Official Study Guide, as SGP said, is a good resource as well.

Good luck!

Interestingly, though I would usually recommend the College Board for official books, I would actually recommend REA Clep. For an online recommendation, probably [CLEP Test Review | DOME Exam Prep - CLEP](http://cleptestreview.com).

The Official CLEP Study Guide has been another resource which has helped me a whole lot. It has been very accurate in telling me how ready I was for the exam.

I think the REA books with tests on CD are good.

REA for Spanish CLEP is pretty good.

i need help with tutoring for sat act all areas

Cindi, you do realize this thread was started back in 2009, right? Your first post makes reference to the ACT and SAT exams – not the same thing at all as a CLEP exam!

Hi All,
I created the listing of MOOC and online courses to prepare to CLEP exams. See there [My Education Path :: Free Online courses and MOOCs to prepare to CLEP exams](http://myeducationpath.com/prepare_exams/4/CLEP.htm)

Tested out of 7 classes through Instantcert

Are there any more tips you can share? I need to take 5 CLEP tests in the next 5 months and wondering how to tackle this with ongoing classes and two kids to care for full time. Anything you can share will be most helpful. Thank you in advance.
^^ Have you checked out Instantcert at all? They have a great forum that is free to read and post on (general education category). Lots of previous and current testers who will be glad to give you advice.
@michaelhk1 which are you planning in taking? I’ve done the Microeconomics and plan to do the Precalculus one in January.
