Thought I would share this with you guys as this method has helped me go from a 1850(first test) to a 2000(second test). What I suggest is that you get the official SAT blue book with 10 practice tests and for every question you get wrong, you go to the Khan Academy website whwre he explains every single math question.. I went up in the math section by 100 points alone doing this..

P.s. he doesnt explain CR or W questions so for those, youre on your own

the real best way: go through a lot of practice tests; review EVERY question, not just the ones you got wrong and come up with why they’re wrong on your own before you look them up. Raised my score from a 1980 to 2300+ (I’ll know for sure just how much + it is in 7 days!!!) doing this

Are you serious satman1111? that’s amazing, did you physically review every question? I usually do the practice tests and just look at the ones I missed

And how many practice tests did you go through. I’m on my seventh …

You should go through all of the Blue Book questions that you got wrong. You can go through the ones you got correct also, but there is an “opportunity cost” to that. What would you otherwise do with that time to strengthen your application? There is a benefit to practicing your SATs early in that the “opportunity cost” of going over correct answers (which can be very beneficial) has less of an impact on other things you might do to strengthen your application. Best of luck!

Hi satman1111,

Didn’t you just retake the SAT on October 5th?
Did you already score 2300+ previously?

StevenToCollege

Who all took oct 5th SAT reasoning test? God so nervous of the results. Fingers crossed.

In all, I probably did around 16 practice tests. The first time I took the SAT I scored 590 CR 770 M 620 W. I thought I was going to do a lot better than that so the “low” (to my standards) score actually made me determined to study. So I signed up late for the March one and completed all the BB practice tests in 3 weeks (I didn’t do math though), going over every question in writing and critical reading. I ended up scoring 2240 in March, with a 760 M, 800 W, but only 680 CR. So before October, I found some more practice tests on the internet and did them, and I’m pretty sure I raised my CR to 750 +.

I agree with SATMAN. Search this sight for the Xigigi Method and Silverturtle’s Guide. There’s a lot of great info available.

Do you guys have any personal tips to improve on the CR/W section on the SAT?
