Do you guys know what are the best well rounded(good in most majors) universities in the US

The better the school (eg. Ivies, top schools like Chicago, Stanford, Duke, etc.) the more likely they are to be good across the board because they attract strong students and strong faculty.

I remember reading in the THES rankings that Stanford is unusually all-round even among the Ivy Leaguers

UPENN, Stanford, Dartmouth

Princeton,stanford,harvard,MIT,yale...

UC Berk, UMICH, Stanford, Ivy League

MIT, yale, UC brek, UMich, Ivies:eek:
These are best well rounded universities?

Umich definitely....

If you're looking just for liberal arts, then the better the school, the better the program (generally).

But when you toss in things like business, engineering, architecture, etc. then the large big-name universities are best, namely Cornell U, UC Berkeley, UMichigan

My definition of a Well rounded univ is one that's good in Liberal Arts, Science, Engg...

I suppose the Ivy+2 (i.e. Ivy League + MIT + Stanford) along with other schools like University of Chicago, etc... would be "well-rounded".

I totally disagree with the fact that just going to Top Colleges means Going to good college, if you find the right environment what you want to learn, then that is good well rounded University. And all those Ivy Leagues are just posers, because of the alumuni. I must say that the teachers are the top in the profession but how can the education experience be personal then.

Ya,I agree, its not TOP NOTCH ehich is important, its how U feel which is important........and not the ivies...after all u must enjoy there in every field....good environment..........
