Hi, I am about to enter my senior year of high school and my g.p.a has stayed in the 3.2-3.7 area. Acting/theatre has been my a huge part of my life and nothing would make me happier than to explore that at a university. I am fully dedicated to my craft but I am nervous because i really haven't decided where I want to go to college. Can you please help me in deciding the best college for me. Thank you

Remember that many programs in theatre put a huge emphasis on the audition and inteview, this is often more important than your GPA for theatre. Start preparing RIGHT NOW for your auditions!

And also, the thing I say obsessively like a broken record, you may want to research some of the actors you admire, the ones who are doing the kind of acting work you hope to someday do. Find out where they got their training, and consider going there yourself.

As far as West Coast schools go, CalArts is the first to come to my mind.

It seems the most popular schools in the West Coast include USC and UCLA. However, they may not be good fits for you. Do you know what kind of program you are looking for (BA vs. BFA, conservatory vs. liberal arts, size of school)? This could help up narrow down your options and give you a better starting point so that you can do more research and decide “the best college for [you].” That is something only you can (and will!) decide after all.

USC for sure
