i got into macalester and their acceptance letter was kinda cheesy. they printed a giant "YES" on the outside of the envelope.

Did anyone here apply to any of the Claremont Colleges? And if so, what did their acceptance/rejection letters look like?

The Olin rejection letter is really good. I'm just sorry my son had to find out.

UC Santa Cruz-a little folder, nothing fancy
UC Irvine-nothin at all. just a letter and a paper with instructions etc.
UC Davis-nothing either..just generic stuff

The MIT rejection letter was very thoughtful I thought, and I still respect MIT as an amazing institution. It didn't really hurt because I already got into Caltech :-).

UCR- Cute folder with papers- pretty okay
Cal State Long Beach- Same as above plus a car sticker
SDSU- Just papers
Cal Poly- "
CSUF- "
UCI- Found out online, got nothing in mail.
UCSD- "

LSE sends out an AWESOME admissions packet. I was very impressed.

The best for me is Indiana University. In fact the rejection letter is hanging up on my wall. Getting rejected from Indiana is a slap in the face. But I do enjoy having it haning on my wall. I enjoy the part where they say we carefully look at everyone's resume and transcripts. I talked to the admissions counselor, and she said they really only look into the GPA and Rank. Oh well, something I'll enjoy in my future when I'm doing grad school at LSE.

Take my spot! I'm not using it anyway!

"i got into macalester and their acceptance letter was kinda cheesy. they printed a giant "YES" on the outside of the envelope."

You know what would be hilarious? If you opened that envelop and it said "YES, you were rejected!"

haha or if it just said "NO"

Or if it said "NO" and came in a CapitalOne letterhead envelope (with the picture of the no guy)...

Oh God, your denial letter with a picture of David Spade?

That's cruel.

my follow up letter from willamette said that the students at willamette will "tickle your funny bone". mann....

accepted already... thats just evil :D

the word on the street is that the final set of Holy Cross decisions will be mailed by today. Good luck everyone....it is a lot more selective this year with apps up 41% year over year and accept rate expected to drop into the low 30's.

Best of luck.

The UCLA rejection from Vu Than Tran (or however you spell it) was horrible. Blandly generic and had no meaning whatsoever.

lol, yeah ucla's rejection letter was cruel. i'm sure all of the ucla rejects wanna hang that vu thanh tran guy in an effigy now.

Out of curiosity....what did the letter say? (Vu Than Tran...sounds Vietnamese...)

American's acceptance packet was cute, if cheesy. It had a picture of a huge elephant with confetti and a "Congratulations!" on the envelope.
