I am at a school in FL I don't like and want to leave I have a 2.9 GPA I really want to transfer but I don't feel my grades are good enough. Would it be a smart idea to go back to CC in NY and get good grades and transfer some where I want to go? I am currently a sophomore.

If you really hate where you are, as long as the calendars permit it you could leave your current school at the end of this semester and start at a CC in your home state second semester. Your expenses should be a lot lower, and you could work on improving your grades while deciding just exactly where it is you want to finish your degree.

The other option is to buckle down where you are and raise your grades this semester so that when you file your transfer applications in February or March you will have one really good semester on record.

Do you know where you want to finish your degree? Do you know what you want to major in? These answers will also help you figure out if you should leave now or later.

Good luck!
