Better Ways to research UG graduates and Med School Enrollment

It is often been asked if the Prestige of UG has correlation to Med School acceptance. And there are always posters think the HYPS graduates have better chance to gain acceptance to med school. I accidentally found a way to ascertain Med School enrollment/acceptance stats. It will take a lot of time to accumulate the stats but it is doable.

Little has been published by med schools as to their students’ UG schools. However, that information is readily available in Residencies. Here is a web site for a list of most of the residency programs in the USA.

Links are given about the programs and the PGY1 - X candidates. The UG school and med school of each candidates are published. If you have the time to go through each program, it is very easy to accumulate the UG and med school enrollment relationship.

Did you make an account to do this? I just tried to look up my own program and all it did was take me to the medical school website homepage.

A lot of programs do publish its resident’s UG schools and med schools. The ones I looked up do show each resident UG and med school origins. But apparently Brown did not show their residents UG schools, only med schools. Oh well, my method has flaws.
