Beyond the GPA

I was just wondering how much of an impact that higher level classes have over others.
For example, as juniors, my friend and I are taking the exact same amount of AP’s and Honors. But my classes include Multivariable Calculus and Physics C Mechanics & Electricity/Magnetism while hes taking BC calculus and Honors Physics. However, our GPA’s are exactly the same this year. Do I get an advantage for taking harder classes?

Is Multivariable Calculus a class at your school, or do you have to go to a college campus to take it?

Its available at my school, however next year I have to go to a college campus to take the next level math class. Im also trying to take the next level physics class at the same college

All other things being equal, students who take more advanced classes will have better chances. In reality, it’s possible for a college to reject you and accept him, since every applicant is different and maybe he’s better in some area that you don’t know about. But you can maximize your own chances by taking challenging classes and doing well in them.
