Update: DD heard today she passed UMICH acting prescreen.
Congrats again!
Anybody hear anything from UCONN? I heard some kids got an early call last year
hi all! congratulations on all of your auditions/upcoming auditions, as it is such a taxing (but rewarding) experience! I am a freshman BFA Acting student at Missouri State, and just thought i’d hop on and answer potential questions about the program! I definitely checked college confidential all the time during my audition process, and thought i would be of some help to those of you going through the acting/mt process this year! If you have any questions about Missouri State or the process in general, feel free to message me!
DD got a Boston U callback today. Since the website says callbacks will be scheduled “if we need to see more of you”, the implication is they aren’t done in every case so its not clear to me whether callback is necessarily good news. Any clue?
Its Crunch time for my DD, and I bet a lot of others…
January 15: Syracuse Acting interview
January 16: Penn State acting
January 21: BU Acting
January 22: Carnegie Mellon singing
January 24: Temple Acting and MT
January 29: UMich acting
February 4: NYU
February 7: ECU interview
February 8: Penn State MT
February 12: UMich MT
Gonna be stressful here for the next few weeks.
I heard of some BU rejections about a week ago, and it’s my impressions they’re calling back fewer people than a lot of the other schools. Seems like a very positive sign. Congrats!
Wow, quite a marathon day from my daughter today for her virtual PSU audition. 6 hours with approx 16 other kids. She said most of the time was watching other kids audition for about 10 minutes each. Her turn came 2 hrs in. Some time also spent on each kid introducing themselves and then there was a separate interview with PSU faculty.
Does anyone know the names of the faculty in the Hartt Actor Training audition zoom? My kiddo did not write them down after his audition this morning. We know one of them is Robert H Davis but he was not the lead guy.
Guthrie rolled out today! Callbacks scheduled for February.
DD (BFA acting/ theatre; also extremely independent) has acceptances at:
CCM
UIC
Loyola (BA)
Cornish School for the Arts
Callbacks scheduled for
Minnesota
UMich
Ithaca
NIU
Finished: NYU (went great) & random Long Island (guy was a nightmare)
Waiting in the wings: Northwestern, USC, SUNY, Vassar (shrug) & UNCSA
Boston, Depaul and Juilliard passed.
Obviously, we’re East Coast. GLTA!
yes, we try not to talk to him, and tests and running our high school one acts on top! Good luck to your daughter!
Hi! I’m auditioning for UNCSA next week, has anybody here already auditioned? If so, I’d appreciate any stories or tips!
Who’s auditioned for Pace already? Was there an interview portion (one on one with faculty) or just monologue and scene? Good luck all!
Hello,
Anyone have input on U of Alabama (Tuscaloosa) BFA acting program?
@ModerndayMomager I don’t know much but D(‘23) auditioned at UA and really liked the program and the director (Seth?). She also loved the campus and all it had to offer. While she didn’t choose the program, it was high on her list. It didn’t seem to be a big program, and D was one of 6 auditioning on the first date.
6 hours? is this for MT or Acting?
and asking b/c my son has his audition with Penn State on 2/6 so wanted to let him know more if that’s the case. thx!
Acting. She has MT on Feb 8th.I don’t know what that entails.
Hi there. My D had Penn State acting callback this past weekend. It was a long day, but well done. The faculty was warm and encouraging and the kids all got to see everyone else do their pieces and work with the faculty. Overall, a great way for the kids and faculty to get to know one another!
New to the site---- this audition process is a heart attack!!! My daughter got 17 auditions, and is about half way through … not knowing anything is awful. She’s gotten passed over on a few schools, which is emotionally draining, and is still waiting on 7 schools to respond to prescreens (the CA schools are later than the East Coast and Mid-West schools). Crazy process!!
