USC callbacks started rolling out today. It was a no for us, but DD got an offer from one of her top choices over the weekend, so it wasn’t a blow at all. She’s going to finish out her auditions, but it feels good to have a fantastic choice.
Congrats to your D. It feels so good to have a top choice in your pocket!!
A light at the end of the tunnel, My DD has one audition to go (UMICH MT on 12 Feb) and then its all over but the waiting. So far:
— Accepted into VCU
— Academically Accepted at ECU, Temple, Marymount Manhattan (things seem to be looking good for ECU as they were very complementary of her audition materials during follow up interview, but who knows)
— Decisions pending for Syracuse (Acting) Boston U, JMU (Acting and MT), PSU (Acting and MT),Northwestern
— Rejected by Elon, UMICH Acting,Ithaca,Carnegie
— Cancelled application to Christopher Newport after acceptance at VCU
— UMICH MT audition on 12 Feb.
If anyone has a student who will be attending the UMN-Guthrie Callback Weekend, please have your student join the Callback Weekend Facebook Group. Message me if you need the link or have questions!
Hi!
I’m called back for the acting program at UMN!!
Do you think you could give me the link to the facebook group? I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!
Ahhhhhhhhh. Auditions are over. Its like the sun is shining again after long dark winter.
Lucky duck. The madness continues in this house until 2/28🤪
Break a leg! My DD is in at and will probably choose UMich, but still has UMN to go. Waiting to hear from NYU & Northwestern. I think it’s going to come down to UMich, MN & NYU, and I think UMich will win.
(Ithaca also turned her down after callbacks, but it seems the school is having some financial issues and layoffs, so it was iffy for us anyway.)
Does anybody know how meaningful a callback to CalArts Acting is? I know a callback is always “good,” but does CalArts call back a slew of Acting applicants or is the pool of callbacks fairly selective? Thank you!
Congrats to your daughter on her UMich acceptance! What an achievement! MT or Acting?
Acting! I believe MT is still auditioning. A friend of my daughter’s said there were 700 MT callbacks at Michigan? That sounds like a lot to me, but she is strictly an acting major.
did anyone audition for uncsa’s acting program and has anyone heard back yet?
My daughter auditioned. Didn’t hear anything. I think their last audition day is 2/20, so they’ll start making calls shortly thereafter. Some people have gotten likely calls, but I don’t think they make very many of those.
Has anyone heard from Royal Conservatoire of Scotland after submitting acting prescreens?
Has anybody heard anything from UCONN?
UCONN Decisions just got released via the Student Admin Portal. Did anyone get accepted in the BFA Acting Program here?
My son just got the acceptance to UConn but major says ACES program? Does that mean a no to acting?
Probably a no for Acting. The letter tells you what department you’ve been accepted in. ACES is for undecided students that either did not specify a department or did not get in their chosen department but UCONN still wants them to come to UCONN.
Gotcha- that is what I’m thinking. better luck for your D!
Thanks! My S is a freshman at UCONN that decided to audition for the BFA Acting Program. We were told that because he is already in UCONN his decision won’t come in his portal. He was told that he would be contacted directly on March 1 instead. He has a call with his advisor on Monday so we have to wait a bit more.
