I thought I heard 12 as well, but hoping I was wrong. Like maybe it was really a whole 18 or something. JK. Anyway, BAL to your daughter!!! I’m sad that CC this year is not as busy as years past. Hard not knowing what’s going on out there, so thanks for sharing info!
Lol. SO crazy that all of these programs are so tiny! I’m so glad I discovered this forum otherwise I’d be going batty! Thanks for the good wishes.
Yes, my daughter got an email the day after the third round of auditions saying
“thanks, but no thanks.” BAL everyone!
Did your daughter use a couch to help with monologues etc? If so, could you pass along name? Thank you!!
I wish there was more activity here too! There seems to be more people interacting with the Facebook groups than this forum. Might also have to do with all the recent changes to CC, making it a little harder to use.
We still have 15 schools in play… the waiting
So the email that my daughter got said that they had seen enough but that they were calling some applicants back for a final look. The email said that not being asked back was not a reflection on potential or admissions but more about needing to see more from a few folks. So, it sounds like if there are 30 in the final callback round and more that are “done” but not cut, maybe they are down to between 50 and 100 or something like that at this point? I don’t know. Wish we all knew more…

Me too… I am wondering how many kids in total got the letter our kids got. I also wonder if they want a class of 12, how many do they make offers to?
I’m guessing their yield is very high, so I doubt they make many more than 12 offers, if that’s the number they are aiming for. Of course, this year is wonky so it could be different.
Any idea whether your daughter auditioned for Catherine Moore in either of the first two auditions?
Was your daughter MT or had she been moved to acting only? The last callback for acting only was called round 4.
Hi everyone, wanted to share that CSUF has a new process for their BFA for Acting to help for future years. This is now a cut program beginning Freshman year. Not sure how many total will be accepted. Their current process is to have you apply into their Theatre department, then after you are accepted you audition for the BFA. My daughter didn’t know about this until after she had applied and this extra step was offered. So very quick turn around. She was accepted on Jan 25th, BFA audition due by Feb 14th, and callbacks are this Friday! Wish her luck!
My daughter was MT. She sang for two auditions and made it to the acting, where she was told there were 60 people left. Then she was cut the next day. I was just interjecting to say that I think they are notifying people not still in the loop.
Might you have any info on the Design & Technical Theater BA for CSUF?
That’s awesome that she made it that far! I think people are wondering why the group of acting only students have been told they are still being considered yet there is a small group that has been called back. It seems much more straightforward to just make some cuts then to keep everyone wondering for a few more weeks.
Sorry, I don’t. First timer here.
Hello! I emailed admissions for some further clarification as I am in the “still in the running” boat and I was just told that the faculty had a remaining question regarding an aspect of some of the auditions as they said in the email we were sent. Gosh I cant wait any longer! Fingers crossed for everyone BAL!
She did not. The first two were men.
I think maybe you need to take it as the email says and consider that they’re still in the running and CMU needs to see more from some of the applicants? I’d rather still be considered than cut!
Hi there. Did the CMU folks tell her there were only 60 in the running at that point (the acting round)? This CMU process is even more confusing given that some kids submitted for MT only, some for Acting only, some, like my D, were cut from MT but continued to be considered for acting. So I wonder whether that pool of 60 was for the kids being considered for MT at that point. To me it looked like they were seeing several hundred for acting only two weekends ago (what they called 4th round, but for acting only was really the 3rd round).
