No “notificaion coming on March 17th” e-mail as of yet from BU. Wondering if that means a denial is imminent?
@emf1959 I just looked at my notes from our on campus discussion. I wrote: 1200 apply for incoming class of 35 (accept between 50-70). @Oaktree99 The email says “Admission decisions will be posted on the Applicant Link on March 17. You will receive an email when your decision is available.” I have a snowday today so not distracted by work today -
My S was accepted in 2014 via portal update (followed up by a letter). I am not sure of stats this year - they did tell us in Chicago they make slightly more offers than slots to allow for yield (and they will produce a waitlist). I just cannot recall how many offers they will make out of the gate.
@blessedgirl3 The notification also said (echoing ALL the parents on this site) – check your portal to make sure everything has been received. Perhaps your S/D should check the BU portal to make sure nothing is missing.
Thanks @ginaf1102 2014 was 35, too. I didn’t want to misspeak for this year. I made it in through the snow but am waiting for the rest of a meeting to arrive SO I’ll surf away!!
D’s friend just reposted his 2021 BU class picture (for Performance Core) and there are 54 in the picture. Perhaps it encompasses more than just the Acting majors?
No email here either.
Just checked. Nothing is missing. Ah well. The waiting continues…
@artskids, re:photo. At NYC Unifieds, BU speaker told us that they had an extraordinary yield last year–almost everyone they offered to accepted. She said they had to go through all kids of stuff in order to add classes to meet their promise of acceptance for each student (!) but will have to keep things in better check this year. I took that to mean from her that they would accept fewer outright and perhaps have a bigger waitlist than in previous years in case last year was a fluke.
^^^dang. Hate to be on this side of the “even out” year LOL.
@ginaf1102 The statistics are so daunting!!
Oops! My daughter got the BU 3/17 email yesterday.
Hi all. Just wanted to tell everyone that we had a wonderful visit to Loyola Marymount University this week. We did the general tour and also met with a member of the theatre arts department faculty. All I can say is WOW!! Wonderfully kind and friendly people in a beautiful environment. The students seemed happy. They have a great variety of theater facilities that are right in the center of campus. We cruised the various eating establishments, and the food options looked pretty good to me. Thank you to all my CC friends who brought this wonderful option to our attention! My only wish is that we had learned about LMU early enough to have done early action. Oh well, I will be pretty savvy at this by the time my youngest is applying to college. She is in kindergarten!!
So happy for my son! He just was accepted to HARTT BFA Acting with a very generous scholarship! Just received packet in the mail today.
That is awesome @Mcgeok! Congratulations!
Congratulations @Mcgeok and also @emf1959 on the Hartt acceptances! It is such an amazing program. My D is thriving there as an MT, but has seen first hand and is personally benefiting from the amazing depth of their AT program. She is seriously coveting that London term! If you have any questions I can answer let me know.
Congratulations @mcgeok! Great news!
@MTmom2017 thank you!!
