BFA Acting Pre-Screen and Auditions. Class of 2022 - Sharing!

Does anyone have any insight into Ball States program. She just received an email giving her a no for BFA Acting but admitted her for Theatrical Studies which is a BA program with the opportunity to audition again for the BFA after her first semester. The first semester for both programs is almost identical but the theatrical studies really gets into every aspect of theater and doesn’t just concentrate on the acting. Just curious if anyone knows someone that has gone this route or not. Thanks.

Any word on Syracuse notifications? I’ve heard some talk about notifications starting to go out. I thought he said mid to late March at the info session

So excited! Connor just got into Cal Arts which is one of his top choices. He didn’t receive an email. We just happened to check the portal and it was posted.

@Mcgeok What a great day for your S! A double yes!! So great. Now you have two coast to chose from!

@Mcgeok How exciting for your S. Congratulations.

@jenniferm1973 Nothing on Syracuse portal. Can still get in, but no new info.

D just said someone in The Green Room reported that they’d gotten a Fordham email. Nothing here yet.

Nothing from Fordham here either.

@MTmom2017 is this for Performance or the Arts Department or other programs? (in particular Performance, Directing, Tech etc )

@actingdreams - I didn’t ask her, but she thought it was for Acting. She’s not home to get more details!

thanks @MTmom2017 Nothing on my Sons Portal and It’s early for Fordham is this is the case! hope to hear about it soon

Wow @Mcgeok! That is so exciting!

My D got a wait list letter yesterday from University of Arizona. The letter asks that she inform them if intending to take other Offers ( which she will) but just wondered if any experience with likelihood of coming off wait list?

On the 28th of February, I was told by the theatre department at Texas state that the “preliminary emails are going out this week and depending on who accepts, you should hear something soon.” My daughter didn’t get an email. :frowning:

My daughter did just hear from Fordham yesterday - she got in  It’s her top acting choice in the U.S., so she was excited, to say the least (lots of collapsing to the floor and crying). We thought it was quite early, too – we didn’t expect to hear for at least another 3 weeks.

Congratulations @proudcalidad!

@proudcalidad sending huge congratulations! That is awesome news! To hear back form your top acting choice with an acceptance is truly thrilling! And yes, to hear early is just a bonus. Enjoy the sweet moment. This board understands the ups and downs for sure!

Thanks all. It was especially good for her because there were a couple early rejections that were starting to wear on her a bit – including Marymount (where she got in for Directing), where she thought she had a solid audition. Just goes to show, ya never know. This process is insane. What happened to the days when you went to school, took your SATs, submitted some stuff, and then hung out with your friends til a letter came in April?

@proudcalidad your daughter has to be Extremely talented! Such good news! I don’t know of anyone else who’s had their portals changed and yes it is early. We were told Mid March. Hopefully others will hear of good news soon. It’s such a relief to be accepted to your Top School. Anything after is a brush off the shoulder :). I wonder what happened to those good ole wait until April days but I’m realizing that this BFA, BA is an entirely different process  congrats again

This waiting is brutal…
