BHP and cost of tuition

I'm an out of state student who was accepted into the Texas BHP. While the BHP is my first choice, money has to be considered. My family does not have the ability to pay $150000 (160000-10000 McCombs scholarship) for college. While we did file fafsa, were not eligible grants and our efc was extremely high due to the large number of assets we hold. However, my parents are near retiring and need those assets to retire.

My goal is to enter the alternative energy industry, which is know is booming in Texas and especially Austin. I would also hope to dual major in Engineering Route to Business to supplement the BHP and to make myself marketable to energy companies. With what I've been reading, graduating with these majors would definitely increase my stock when applying for job and internships.

In was offered a scholarship to the University of Arizona that would put me in their Honors College and pay full tuition, costing only about $40000 (room and board for four years). While I would probably major in Engineering Management and get an associates in Entrepreneurship, I'm not sure how well I would compete against others when trying to enter the industry.

Here are my questions:
Is the BHP worth the oos cost (specifically if anyone has gone through it and entered the energy field)?
How available are scholarships to McCombs and BHP students?
How have other (preferably oos) students financed their degrees?

Btw, I'll be attending the Discover BHP on March 27, so I'll see all of you there :)

When we went to the campus visit at UT, they mentioned if you get a scholarship they wave the OOS. I don’t remember the details but someone else probably can weigh in. We are OOS also. Congrats on BHP.
