@azndude3194, you were deferred without any interview?

I would venture to say that if you end up not receiving a request for an interview, your chances are likely shot. Since a phone interview with an alumnus is part of the admissions process, I would presume it is compulsory for acceptance. I interviewed in early January and am now waiting it out. My interviewer said that they were required to submit their interview reports by February 1st and that applicants should hear their decisions by March 1. If I were you, that is when I would expect notification.

Just my conjecture… since you applied, technically, under the early process, an admissions rep thought your profile was impressive but not stellar. The interview request is sort of the second step in the process so if they’ve deferred you and still haven’t given you an opportunity to interview, it’s possible more qualified candidates applied for admission to BHP. Sorry about the deferral, I know the feeling - anxiety, doubt, indecision. Good luck and I hope you are asked to interview soon!

I believe this question has been asked before, but I will try to revitalize the research. Does anyone have an idea the number of McCombs accepted students who are invited to interview for BHP, and then subsequently the percentage of those interviewed who are accepted, deferred, and rejected? It would seem that they could be nit-picky about how many applicants they invite for an interview so since the number of accepted students is usually 180-190, I would imagine they don’t interview more than 250 of the 1000 McCombs students, but I’d like to hear if anyone else has real statistics or more educated estimations.
