BI (Bachelor of Innovation) in Music (Univ of CO- Co Spgs)

I already posted this in the music major forum, but thought it might get more answers here since the major is not “just” music. Is anyone familiar with the Bachelor of Innovation in Music degree at University of Colorado- Colorado Springs? I’m looking at different music/business, music/engineering/comp science combinations of degrees within or not too far from Colorado with in-state or WUE tuition or around $30K COA. Is a BI too weird for the future resume when employers aren’t familiar with it? Is it better to get a major with a minor? Also considering the BI Comp. Science or BI Elec. Engineering.

Hi - you are in the wrong forum . You posted in CU Boulder.

Someone must have moved the post. I thought I posted it in a general college selection forum.

@dogladyJ Sorry there is no Forum for UCCS on College Confidential. Its hard to know how those new degrees will look on a resume, UCCS is trying to improve its rank, but its not ranked well right now. Its got some new degree titles, not sure that makes up for its lower rank. With that, Colorado Springs is a nice city. Try to visit to learn more about these majors.

You would be better off at Mines or CU Boulder for computer science. Better off at CU Boulder for a music degree. Colorado Springs was a commuter school that now has some dorms. It will improve over time, but the other campuses of U of Colorado , including the commuter campus in Denver, are far better in my opinion. Boulder has the best all around engineering/CS programs in the state. Mines is ranked even higher than Boulder, having slightly stronger students with top math scores, and small class sizes, and more focus on geochemistry and petroleum engineering, but still outstanding computer science. Boulder, you could double major in music and CS. I would look carefully at Boulder. In music, you would need to audition, however look at Atlas, there is a creative CS/arts/music type of B.S. degree now in Boulder. It is through the CU Engineering College, but more creative than the run of the mill engineering degree. Boulder also offers a BA in computer science, less heavy mathematics for that degree program in Arts and Sciences at CU Boulder.
