bicycles on campus?

Hi I'm an incoming freshmen this year and I was just wondering if bicycles are a necessity at sd. Also are there printers available on campus? Is it recommended to have your own? Thanks for any leads.

Printers are available. But it is definitely a plus to have your own, after you’ve burned that midnight oil for a paper.

Bikes are also common, duh its a college campus, silly. Just remember to use a proper and safe U - lock if you want to keep your bike.

i walk everywhere. and its not a necessity, but if you have a bike that you don’t really care about too much and a U lock, then i bring it if you want.
yes, they do have printers on campus. its probably cheaper to just use those than to have to buy ink cartridges all the time, but i liked the convenience factor and i had extra financial aid money to be able to afford ink.
though, i probably won’t bring it for this coming year, simply because it just takes up a lot of space.

Thanks so much guys! It really helped!

do you know what the best lock would be for a bike at UCSD?
im guessing locks you can cut off aren’t going to make it here…

^ I’m pretty sure the U locks are the best ones.

I work for a cyclery.

Kryptonite Evolution 4. Best lock for urban environments.

There’s Kryptonite’s forgetaboutit lock but that’s overkill in protect, price, and weight (weighs a ton).
