This has to be the first time in modern college football history than an undefeated team was not ranked in the top two. I guess CHEATING does has some consequences. Seriously though, the AP should be ashamed to even rank a program that was bowl ineligible at the end of the season. What does it prove?

“We were 6-7 last season (first losing season in the last 25 years of Ohio State’s history)”

A direct result of cheating and getting caught. The talent was there, it just couldn’t play. This past year there were no suspensions. See how that works?

Transitive logic like that is just weak. By your logic, Ohio State was pretty mediocre (maybe it was) since it barely beat Indiana and Cal. How about a more direct comparison - common opponent with Cal? Oregon beat Cal 57-17. Cal missed 3 FG and had a TD called back by penalty! Your team didn’t even beat Cal; Cal beat themselves. Oh, by your transitive logic, Ohio State would get blown out by Oregon too, maybe not 57-17 but probably something like 50-10.

Other than that overtime loss to Stanford, Oregon was dominant in pretty much every single game; many of them were decided by half time and they could have scored 80 or 90 points in some of those if they really wanted to.

ND’s completely gutless performance was a shocker to me. Are they really that bad-overrated? I know Bama is good but ND barely showed up.

^Even in their last regular season game, they were pretty unimpressive and barely beat the USC team that just lost Barkley. Instead of Barkely, they just played against a freshmen QB that was playing his first college game. Barkley wasn’t hurt until the very end of the previous game; I guess that’s the luck of the Irish.

“Was there a game tonight?”

You didn’t miss much. The most exciting moment of the evening was when Brent Musburger got excited for the first time in 30 years, and made sure everybody on the planet knew about it.

Here’s a copy of the SEC Memo that will soon be sent to all voters:

Thanks rjk for sharing, and agree with Sam’s point (even though we had the ducks beat in the Rose Bowl back in 2010 when they were just as dominant if not more so than this season). In short, I am content with Ohio State being ranked as No. 3 in the land this season!! Go Bucks!! :)

“In short, I am content with Ohio State being ranked as No. 3 in the land this season!!”

That’s understandable. Your earlier wishes that Ohio State could have ever been ranked number one by the AP at seasons end were not. :-)

Truth be known, I believe #24 Michigan could certain give #4 Notre Dame a run for its money judging from Domers and Wolverines’ on-field performance at the end of the season and against 'Bama.

<a href=“Typical Notre Dame fan after Alabama destroyed the Irish in the National Title Game REALITY CHECK - YouTube”>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nfMDf6mRMzs</a></p>

Once again, as barrons pointed out that Notre Dame is way over-rated!! LOL

what would be cool if like in basketball, in the first week have a big 10 acc challenge, or any other conference, it would show which conference is better, it wont happen though :(

^^ Thanks for sharing, Sam! I am not surprised at all about the deception.

Unfortunately that seems to be the only way in which Notre Dame could possibly win a Heisman trophy by making up story as an attempt to garner public support these days. As always, Notre Dame is quick to cover up as it did when the nearby St. Mary College teen was raped by its player and later committed suicide, as well as the death of its student from the tower fall while filming the football practice under the watch of Brian Kelly.

NCAA needs to man up, and penalize Notre Dame football with a 5-Year Bowl Ban for all its wrongdoings in order to clean up the program.

Manti should contact Brent Musburger for leads on cute girlfriends. The old geezer still has an eye for the great ones.

ND and Manti are small time compared to Plainfield and Johnny Chung: [Plainfield Teacher’s College - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia](<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plainfield_Teacher’s_College]Plainfield">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plainfield_Teacher’s_College)

“NCAA needs to man up, and penalize Notre Dame football with a 5-Year Bowl Ban for all its wrongdoings in order to clean up the program.”

They’ll do that as soon as they reevaluate why Maurice Clarett, who should have been ineligible, played in the NC game in '02. :-)

My two favorite quotes by football players at Ohio State:

Tyrelle Pryor admitting he is a murderer in defense of Michael Vick:

“Not everybody’s the perfect person in the world. I mean everyone kills people, murders people, steals from you, steals from me, whatever.”

…and my favorite twitter quote of all, by the honest Cardale Jones, in defense of the importance of academics at Ohio State:

“Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play FOOTBALL, we ain’t come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS.”

LOL. ;-)

“we ain’t come to play SCHOOL classes are POINTLESS.”

While he probably should have put a semi-colon after “SCHOOL,” at least he knew to put an apostrophe in “ain’t.”

Well, I am just thrilled that Urban Meyer is now the head coach of The Ohio State Buckeyes!!

The future is as bright as ever!! Go Bucks!! :p

Do you guys think Manti or Manti/ND will eventually be found to be part of it? Right now, they claim they are also the victims.

I highly doubt his innocence unless South Bend Tribune fabricated the following story.

http://www.southbendtribune.com/sbt-what-dreams-may-come-20130116,0,4642827,full.story</a></p>

<a href=“Manti Te'o: Story Attributed To Parents Hard To Reconcile With Hoax Report : The Two-Way : NPR”>Manti Te'o: Story Attributed To Parents Hard To Reconcile With Hoax Report : The Two-Way : NPR;

So one thing is clear: one of them at least perpetuated the hoax.

Manti made up so many details about meeting with his “girlfriend” that his credibility in now claiming to be the victim of a hoax, rather than its perpetrator, is close to zero.

A lot of people are going to be on this and I assume eventually the truth will come out, but for now I can see two leading possibilities:

The hoax was concocted by the Notre Dame p.r. machine to try to generate some steam behind Te’o’s Heisman candidacy, or

Te’o was actually involved in a romantic relationship with the man in California at the other end of the Twitter feeds, they invented the “girlfriend” as cover (and as a convenient enough reason why Te’o, who surely would have been BMOC, wouldn’t date Notre Dame women), but then they needed to kill off the “girlfriend” when teammates and others started to think it strange that they had never met her despite a supposed 3-year relationship.
