I am receiving my undergraduate degree later in life and won’t graduate until I am about 28 to 29 years old. I was told that I can’t get into investment banking but can I still get into consulting in a big 4 firm?
what are my chances based on my age? Thanks
Should be fine these days. Back 30 years they mostly just hired fresh 22 year old undergrads or newly minted MBAs. That has changed. You still need good grades and to make a good impression in your interviews, though.
Big Four recruit & hire lots of students at that age but the ones that I know just completed a graduate degree in tax or accounting. Computer Science would also work for Deloitte & PwC. Hopefully others will respond, but there are a few websites dedicated to Big Four hiring.
A real advantage of working for a Big Four beyond the ongoing training is that each has offices throughout the US & throughout the world. Plus, major companies like to hire away Big Four senior associates, managers & above.
For those in their undergraduate study, the key to getting hired fulltime by a Big Four accounting firm is to enter through their internship program.
