I'm transferring to UT-Austin to double major in accounting and finance and hopefully will get into their BBA - MPA program. Assuming i have an ok GPA and I'm somewhat involved on campus and I have an ok interview, will it be fine if I have no other internships or relevant work experience?
I currently work at a grocery store as a checker and I'm probably going to get moved up to service manager. Will this help at all if I move up?... I think it shows leadership.

Your GPA and past experience all go out the window when you get to the first round interview. While they matter and have to be good in order to get the interview, once you do get it, all that matters is how you do on the interview and how good your networking with firm professionals has been.

With that said, you should be prepared to answer behavioral questions using examples from your past leadership/work experience.

@rusoboy23, so the GPA only matters to get to the interview and not anymore after.

For the interviews, what type of questions do they ask? What are some behavioral questions? I really want to get all the info I can

Thanks :D

Essentially. I mean I’m sure if a guy with a 3.4 and a guy with a 3.9 do similarly on the first interview, they’ll take the 3.9 guy, but it’s more or less a benchmark to get to the first interview. Of course, it also depends on the prestige of your school. The more prestigious and the more intense the recruitment, the higher GPA you’ll need.

In terms of behavioral questions, look online. There’s plenty of places where you can find huge lists. Then I recommend the night before practicing answering them.
