On the app for the college i am applying (top 20) The essay asks for "full page in length (500)" Now I typed and edited and typed and re-edited and got one page but it is 580 words.

Big deal or no because it is still one page (ps. Times New Roman font size 12 right? lol sorry)

well im gonna bump this one

I'll assume that 500 is a limit. That means that you should bring it down to 500. There is definitely some way to make your essay just as good with 500 words.

ok thanks i just read through one last time took out unneeded word and combined others -40 words :)

I heard a good method for chopping down your essay word-length - delete the whole thing, and write it from memory. Therefore you only write down the most important stuff!

Its OK to have 580 words. Believe me!

I think it's fine too. They're not gonna count...they'll just look at the length and make sure it's not ridiculously long. I'd look at the word "limit" as more of an approximate thing...like the on/off ramp speed signs, ha!
