some of you guys might think this is a really dumb question, but here it goes...

i just found out (within the past 5 minues) that i've been accepted to penn arts and sciences as a transfer student. i'm planning on majoring in economics and i know that penn has a fantastic program. there is just one slight problem: i really enjoy my current school (the university of georgia). i realize that uga has nowhere near the academic prestige that penn holds, but just the same, i'm having second thoughts.

i guess i was just expecting to get rejected at penn, so i didn't bother getting excited or nervous about the transfer application process - i just tried it for fun and got extremely lucky. (fortunate, blessed?)

anyway, in light of the fact that transferring means making a whole new set of friends and beginning a whole new routene, would you guys say i should still take advantage of the penn admission, or just stick with my current school.

yes, prestige is a very lame factor. however, in light of the fact that i also don't want to be chained to the state of georgia for the rest of my life (which is where most uga grads end up), would penn offer a substantial advantage?

Also, consider what area of the country you want to live in after colleges as another decision factor. If it's the Southeast, then the U of Ga. alumni network is as strong as any. Penn may have the edge on national connections and certainly in its own backyard - the Northeast.

Spread your wings and go to Penn. You can always return to Georgia but you can go anywhere with the Penn degree. You'll have friends in no time and all sorts of new adventures.
