This is a complete nightmare. I have been ACCEPTED to EVERY school I applied to. hehe.
I don’t really have much of an opinion of them. I just want to get out of University of Georgia as soon as possible because I hate it there. Basically, everyone there is a hick, except for the out-of-state students who didn’t come from Alabama. When I told them where I was from, they didn’t know where in the world it is located or how to pronounce it: “Yalls from Elle-noise?” (Illinois)

Well anyhow, I got into these places:

University of Wisconsin-Madison

Depaul University (with very generous scholarships)

Loyola University Chicago (with very generous scholarships)

Illinois State University (with very generous scholarships)

University of Delaware

University of Connecticut-Storrs

University of Massachusetts-Amherst

University of Iowa

UC-Riverside

UC-Irvine

I don’t know anyone from Georgia that wanted to go to UGA (that wasn’t a jock or similar flavor of person), and I’m from Georgia. What the hell made you want to go in the first place?

Depends on how much money matters, I’d choose Wisconsin if money were a neutral for the best college experience and strong academics in this group.

I think it has to do with you and your values. If it was me I’d go with #2 or #3 because I enjoyed the college tour trip to Chicago.

The only one I heard bad things about is UMass Amherst. I’ve heard some good things about Delaware, especially the honors program and the schedule. Allow for lots of good travel and study abroad without missing a semester on campus.

Ok, I can understand if you aren’t happy there, but way to stereotype it.

I have visited there many times in the past 12 years, not to mention that my sister goes there. UGA is a great school, and not many of the people there are actually southern to the point that they talk like that. If they did speak like that, they never would have gotten in.

The University of Iowa is a good school, although it depends on what you’re majoring in. If it’s English, go to UI. Generally, Iowa City is a great place. There is a big drinking culture though. (It’s the fifth best party school or something like that…)

Wisconsin and Iowa have good reputations. If DePaul has a strong program in your intended major and you appreciate Chicago, I’d go for DePaul. (I personally would rather live in Chicago than Madison or Iowa City.)

If you do a UC definitely pick Irvine. Not the best UC, but not terrible and amazing location and cool California kids if that’s what you’re after.

What’s your major? It’d make a big difference. For example, if engineering - U Wisconsin Madison. If music teacher - Illinois State. If writing - U Iowa. If materials science - U Mass Amherst. If business… probably UConn.

go to #3 or #4 so that when you tell people where you are from they may actually know where it is and how to pronounce it; that’s your reason for not liking UGA, after all.

Not sure why UMASS is unranked–they may have opted out–but they have fantastic engineering, with incredible job placement stats, just so you know. Also excellent polymer science/sciences in general. Very pretty, smaller campus (for a state U), beautiful town, gorgeous part of the country. It’s still a big state U–lots of partying, as is going to be true anywhere. You also would be part of the 5-college consortium with the opportunity of taking classes at Amherst, Smith, Mt. Holyoke, and Hampshire. Not a bad deal!
