Big Fish in Small Pond favorable?

Hello everyone,

I am planning on majoring in accounting/finance and need some help. I’m down to Creighton and Notre Dame. Money isn’t really the issue, it’s the right fit. I have heard multiple opinions, saying big fish is better to the Notre Dame education cannot be passed up.

My main concern is the opportunities at Notre Dame. I won’t be as stand-out-ish, and that could potentially affect leadership roles. Is this ignorant or a valid point?

I don’t want to make the wrong decision, especially choosing Notre Dame just for the name.

Thanks everyone

If cost isn’t an issue, I would go with Notre Dame all the way.

What leadership roles?

Notre Dame has a alumni network that is fantastic. You’ll make great connections there for the future.

You can CHOOSE to be a leader in lots or organizations (Accounting Society, Finance Clubs, etc.) whether or not you’re a “big fish”. Groups and clubs are looking for freshmen to not just join but get involved. College is an opportunity to refresh and launch your you 2.0. It won’t be cliquey like high school so push yourself to get involved and you will be a leader.

ND all the way. Great school, great network!

Agree if money isn’t an issue I’d head to ND in a heartbeat.

If finance, choose ND. If accounting, you’re really overpaying at ND. Something to consider.
