<p>I’ve mentioned previously that California State University, Northridge (in LA’s San Fernando Valley), offers at BA in theatre with a MT minor. <p>The University of Alabama at Birmingham has a new BFA Musical Theatre program. An audition is required.</p>
<p>Molloy College in Long Island, NY now has a BFA in Theatre Arts (which includes Musical Theatre) in partnership with CAP21. Students spent two or three days per week at Molloy, and two or three days per week at CAP21. Students apply to the college first with the regular application, and once accepted, then they audition at CAP21 for admittance to the Theatre Arts program.</p>
<p>If someone wants to add it, the number of freshman BFA MT kids at Ohio Northern this year is 20. </p>

Thanks @actorparent. Before I update the list I am maintaining, please confirm that you read it is non-audition? I see they have juries 2nd semester sophomore year to stay in BFA, but many programs have juries so I would consider it a straight-out non audition program, right?

I have a junior who is interested in music theatre or a school where she can combine theatre, dance, and voice.
Her choir does a lot a world music, and now she has also said she is interested in ethnomusicology as a minor. My quick search showed that as more of a grad school program, although it looked like BU and Indiana have something. Anyone come across this in their searches? Thanks!

Ethnomusicology is part of the Division of Musicology within the Conservatory of Music at Oberlin College. Students from both the Conservatory of Music and College of Arts and Sciences can enroll in ethnomusicology offerings. Students wishing to concentrate in ethnomusicology may do so with:
A Minor in Ethnomusicology within the Conservatory Bachelor of Music Degree.
A Concentration in Ethnomusicology in Musical Studies Major in the College of Arts and Sciences, Bachelor of Arts.
An Individual Major in either the Conservatory or College of Arts and Sciences.
Students majoring in Ethnomusicology may elect to pursue honors, a year-long program of intensive study, generally structured around original research and involving the writing and defense of a thesis.
Bard:
Bard’s Music Program is equipped for specialization in four major areas: jazz (and related African American traditions), European classical music (including its younger, American parallel), electronic music (starting with its early 20th-century experimental roots), and ethnomusicology. The music major explores the history and theory of one of these four areas through course work and also takes at least one music course in an area outside his or her specialization. The Music Program encourages diversity, provided the musician becomes sufficiently immersed in one tradition to experience the richness and complexity of a musical culture.

Ouachita Baptist Univeristy in Arkansas in now a BFA program for MT rather than BM. It changed for this current school. It is still non-audition for admittance. My D auditioned for a scholarship for this school last week. Southern Arkansas University is starting a BFA in MT for the 2015-16 school year. I don’t know if it’s audition or non-audition.

- I did my best to modify the list so that it would fit within the new post size limits here on CC. I made every formatting adjustment I could think of to try and convey the same amount of information while reducing the character count.
- I removed the class count numbers since they are tracked in another thread, and every character counts.
- Perhaps we could think about moving 2 year programs to another thread or separate post within this thread.
