Big Night for Hoyas

All three Hoya Gubernatorial Candidates (Daniels in Indiana, Lynch in New Hampshire and Fortuno in Puerto Rico) won smashing victories.

Both US Senators up for reelection (Barrosso in Wyoming, and Majority Whip Durbin in Illinois) won resoundingly too.

Let us hope that Lieutenant Governor Quinn or Attorney General Madigan replaces Barack Obama in the Senate.

As for the new Obama adminstration-General Jones as Secretary of State, Anthony Lake as National Security Advisor , Robert Gates retained as Secretary of Defense and Roger Altman as Secretary of Treasury would be America's dream team.

Go Hoyas!

Indeed, practically the entire faculty of the SFS seems under consideration for a job in te Obama administration

To elaborate-

James Jones as Secretary of State is best equipped to build bridges to the Republicans. He was the one name in all the VP buzz last summer that appeared on both parties' lists of potential candidates. He is an expert on energy as well as National Security. He could well be a Secretary of Energy Candidate.

Roger Altman, managed the successful Chrysler bailout of 1980 and is best equipped to manage the current TARP program.

The success of Gates manging the surge and bringing accountability to the Air Force and Army after Rumsfeld is well documented.

Anthony Lake is the Democrat with the broadest diplomatic resume. He could even be Secretary of State.
