Cornell sent me an email about bigredboxes.com which is a service that allows you to send your stuff to Cornell using UPS and BigRedBoxes and then the stuff is in your room when you arrive. I'm guessing this is a new service. But has anyone signed up for it and could possibly tell me what the total cost came out to be? Thanks.

im going to use them to restock after winter break, but not for fall move in.

Have you checked the Big Red Boxes website about this service? It should give you some idea about the cost. The website indicates that to store items over the summer (including picking up in your dorm and delivering to new dorm) the cost is done by weight, except for several items specifically listed on the website. For these items (such as minifridge), a flat fee is charged. If the website isn't helpful about its shipping service, just call them or e-mail them.

BRS is seriously expensive. Unless you have money to waste, ship you ustuff to yourself and piuck it up at your service center. The will give you a cart to wheel it to your room. You can always use your parents or the move in volunteers to help you.
