@lukebbuff- yeah thats hardly cheating at all. You already know the basic outline of what would be on the test. Getting to see the real question is more like taking advantage of a good opportunity that the rest of the class doesn’t have.

Actually, today my whole pre-calculus class cheated on a test.
My teacher was planning on give us a test but he got called down last minute to proctor an IB test, so we had a sub. It’s really late in the year, so he can’t postpone this test so we took it with the sub. The sub passed out the test to my class and didn’t really care and knew we were cheating and said “I didn’t see anything.” Everyone worked in groups, used books, calculators on the non calculator test, and the internet.

Our class vowed to not tell our friends or whatever so word wouldn’t spread, but someone will blab and I expect the tests to be invalidated.

if you get caught in college… goodbye everything.

Most of the people I went to school with were ■■■■■■■■, there was no point to cheat off them. I did write the answers all over my arm once but was too afraid to use them. It wouldn’t be hard to cheat in my school though, in order to get ranked high in any grade you have to cheat in order to compete with the other cheaters and no one really cares. Heck(in place of the bad word), the Valedictorian of this year cheated on everything, I don’t think he had an original thought in his head that his mom didn’t tell him.

No “big time cheating” for me (I will admit to co-operative work with half the class during a social studies quiz in middle school). On the other hand, a senior at my school got caught cheating on her IB final English exam. Silly girl. She’s screwed.

I will admit that I will help people on busy work assignments, but I make them actually learn how to answer the question. I don’t consider that cheating. I have looked at other people’s tests, but only after I’ve turned mine over or in. If I don’t know it, I don’t deserve to get the question correct. What really annoys me is the girl that sits behind me in English always wants to copy my homework or cheat off my tests. I just ignore her.

So…what happens when ppl get caught cheating on a test inHS? Like for example if you bring in cheat sheets or smthng? (so planned cheating)
do they give you detention, fails, some note on your transcript or what?

I have a friend who made a cheat sheet, and accidentally left it in the classroom afterwards. Our teacher was horribly upset and felt kind of betrayed. But she had no idea who did it so couldn’t do anything like give detention, void the test, or anything. I didn’t even know my friend did it til recently. The sad thing is, she only got a C.

There used to be this girl who sat near me in math class who was always forgetting to do her homework. She seemed nice and I was afraid of looking bad so I let her copy mine a couple of times, though I beat myself up about it afterwards. Fortunately I changed schools later that year. I don’t let anyone copy my homework anymore.

I almost cheated one time on a midterm; I was paranoid that my answer wasn’t long enough so instinctively glanced at my classmate’s paper.

I agree with what some people have said on here…We have all cheated at some point (myself included) but it really does cause problems later on. It is almost impossible to cheat on AP exams and cheating your whole way through the class to get an A and then making a 1 on the AP test makes it look like you didn’t try or the class was too easy. It is so easy to make cheating a habit and that is when it becomes a problem.
