I know there are probably hundreds of these threads but i want to bring it back because my Sat scores have room to improve a lot so im curious if anyone has experienced major sat score improvement.if you could Include ACT scores and class rank improvements if it applies.
D1 went from 670 to 780 on the Math section of the SAT alone, which is the difference of six wrong answers vs. one wrong answer. D2 went from 2150 to 2370 on her SAT. So dramatic improvements are certainly possible.
@spayurpets was it through intense studying or did they improve through just being more comfortable with the test? I assume D1 and 2 stands for daughters?
I’ve seen kids go from 300s to 800 in W and from 520 to 800 in CR. Biggest total increase I’ve seen is around 700 points, from 1600 to 2300.
1850’s on a diagnostic test to 2240.
For my Ds (which does stand for daughters), they did have tutoring, but I think they were tutored for both the first and the second tests. I don’t think there was a lot of studying or cramming in between but it was more the comfort level with taking the exam a second time. For my D1, it’s possible that there was a wrong bubble being filled in on the math test because that first score was lower than she had ever done on practice tests, and there were three consecutive questions where she got the answer wrong.
1330 on a diagnostic to 2280 on the real one. But with only the real administered tests, 1750-ish to 2280 on the real one.
