<p>What do you guys prefer? I do a bit of mountain biking, but don’t plan to commute on my nicer bikes. I’m not sure whether I should spend the cash to get a beater, or use the bus?</p>

<p>im going to be using my bike or walking pretty much everywhere probably, since i live at primero grove.</p>
<p>Your nicer bikes could get stolen, so I’m would be cautious about bringing those. You can ride the UniTrans for free, but it’s nice to just take a bike and go out whenever you want and not have to wait for a bus. A bike is also useful for getting across campus for classes near eachother in time, or just exploring (biking the UCD Aboretum is really nice). I say just bus it for now and keep your eye out for a nice cheep bike on craigslist; I found a mountain bike there for $40 (decent condition, especially for just commuting) and a women’s bike for $75 (which I thought should be worth more).</p>
