When I went to my local send-off meeting the students reccomended that everyone register their bikes with campus security. Does anyone know where I am supposed to do that? I asked a couple people in my dorm, but they didn't know either.

There is a form you can fill out on the ND security police page.

shellzie I have read your college saga for months and followed your Dartmouth/ ND dilemma with much interest.
Sounds like you have chosen the right school, and I can't believe I am actually posting some info for you now, knowing you and my s are at the same school!

The rector of Morrissey said that there were several incidents of bikes being stolen last year, and he recommended getting the stronger bike locks. And, thanks for the registration info. because we ran around to several stores in the area late Saturday and luckily ended up with an inexpensive bike from Meirs. We don't have those stores out here, and if you are in need of anything it is on Main Street, just around the corner from the Khol's shopping complex. Lots of new HUGE stores all along those streets.

Shellzie hope you are having a great time!

Thanks, gandert! I will go check out the ND security page now. And thanks for the advice, SouthJerseyChessMom. I currently have a cheap bike from Target (not Meirs- we don't have those in MN either) with not one, but two locks (a metal U-lock for the frame and a cable lock for the wheels). I am having a great time, just started classes today and everything is going smoothly so far. And things have definitely calmed down since Frosh-O ended, lol.
