Bingbuilder.com

I was wondering if anyone has worked with this program? I'm political science/prelaw and all the core classes I wanted to take next semester aren't on the list on the website. Does that mean that they're filled? or not being offered? or is there a problem? Thanks!

bingbuilder should list all courses offered for the semester – not every course is offered every semester. even courses that are full should show up – you wouldn’t see if a course is full until you hit the enrollment button for the course which takes you to the registrar’s official site with registration figures – but even then, remember that seats are opened up for each of the orientations, so a course could seem full but in fact be available for new students to register when they go for orientation.

this is the link for the official course listings – https://buonline.binghamton.edu/banner/bwckschd.p_disp_dyn_sched</a> – select fall 09 and then fill out your search criteria – bingbuilder is a bit easier-- especially for seeing what potential schedules will look like, but if you have questions as to what is actually being offered, you can check the official listing as well. (the official course listing will also sometimes list some additional info that isn’t readily seen on bingbuilder, such as if enrollment in a course is limited to certain students)

where were you getting the list of courses that you were looking at to decide what you wanted to take?

I used to use schedulizer.com if you want to try that too.

Only about 3 classes from the list of core courses for Pre law/political science are being offered next semester? I find that hard to believe, so I must be doing something wrong

where are you looking at a list of classes? not all classes are offered every semester.

if the official listing and bingbuilder are both telling you what courses are offered for the fall, you should probably believe it.

to get a sense of how often the courses you are looking for are offered you can also try this – go to the link i gave you for the official listing of classes – look at prior semesters (spring 09, fall 08) and see when various courses on the list you are looking at have been offered in the past – past offerings are not guarentee of future offerings, but it may give you an idea of how many courses are offered each semester and with what frequency a course is offered.

is this what you are looking at? http://bingweb.binghamton.edu/~martinek/conc.htm</a>
have you looked at the link to the FAQ’s there?

if this is what you are looking at, there seems to be an awful lot of flexibility in terms of what courses can count.

from faq’s

personally, i can well believe that only a few of the listed course are offered in any given semester. you only need 4 core courses (then five more related or core). don’t stress too much now – and when you can, try to meet with the program’s adviser.

ah thanks for your help!
