CANNOT FIND A LISTING OF GENERAL ED COURSES

I was wondering if someone can lend a helping hand. I know this may be a tough one. My son is currently in high school but we were trying to get a complete listing of all of the general ed courses offered at Bing under the different sub categories. Humanities, Math etc. Basically what my son wanted to do is simply look at all of the courses that are offered for the general ed categories J, O, N etc etc to see what he might be interested in taking. He did not apply as of yet, but we just wanted to take a look.

I called Bing and they said that was not public information. Basically they said that once he is accepted, there is a way to go online and see all of the courses offered for the Gen Ed requirements

I was not sure if this was a policy for most universities. I found it a bit strange. Afterall, I was not asking for the recipe for the Big Mac special sauce. lol

Anyway, if anyone knows how to access this info, that would be great. If not, I guess we will just have to wait till the time comes.

You’d see the courses through BU Brain, which you need a “b-number” to access. I can still sign on as an alumni so if you need anything specific let me know and I could email it or something. There is a way to search by what gen ed it’d fill.

Thanks Rebeccar,

I am good for now. I do not want to trouble you. My son is only a jr and who knows if he will even get into the SOM from high school. I am hoping for the best, but you never know. When the time comes, I may hit you up for some courses. I just wanted him to see what gen ed courses might interest him.

@euve69 you should be able to find the courses here: https://www.binghamton.edu/registrar/students/course-registration/schedule-of-classes/
Just hit view schedule. It only shows certain terms but it can give you a good idea, Then you can hit the gen ed that you want

@BingUStudent Thanks!
