Really enjoyed Broadchurch 2.
@oldmom4896. Loved Treme and have watched it a few times all the way through. Many of the actors from The Wire , which in my opinion is the best tv series ever made, were also on Treme, as they shared the genius writer David Simon. And his newest project is Show Me A Hero, an HBO mini-series currently showing in three two hour episodes. It is based on a book about the affordable housing fight in Yonkers NY in the '80s and '90s. Fabulous cast, excellent storytelling. I highly recommend it.
I have been watching The Knick OnDemand. It originally aired on Cinemax. Storyline follows a cocaine addicted physician and an African American doctor practicing at a hospital in the early 1900ās. Clive Owen and Andre Holland are the leads.
LOL, portions of The Knick are filmed across the street from my building in Brooklyn!
Just finished Sports Night. Very enjoyable. I always like Aaron Sorkin shows, although The West Wing is much, much greater.
Interestingly, I talked with my S about itāheās practically the only person I discuss this stuff with IRLāand he told me he detests Aaron Sorkin! Iām shocked. I told him that The West Wing, my favorite, is like liberal political porn. He said, āExactly!ā Heās more intellectually rigorous than I am, I guess! =))
I think Iām going to check out Treme next, and Last Tango in Halifax.
@Consolation, where did you find Sports Night? Iāve been looking for that one online.
Sports Night is also on Hulu.
Watch āThe Fallā courtesy of the BBC on Netflix.
Series 1 only 5 episodes.
Series 2 sadly only 6 episodes.
Reminiscent of Prime Suspect with Helen Mirren.
Gillian Anderson stars.
Tremeā¦loved it but it seemed to just āendā, no closure.
Last Tango in Halifax Season 4 will be out end of 2015. Now what that means, I do not know. Is it a BBC production so that means we have to wait till the season plays out āover thereā before we can get it on Netflix?
Chef table - Netflix -
I think Sports Night is on Amazon too.
Iām starting the Bill Nighy Worricker series. Free on Amazon Prime. (Last time I started it, the picture quality was terrible. Now better.)
And Homeland comes back Oct 4. If I even watched all of it, last run, I probably only half paid attention. But, Iāll take a look.
It is, but itās not free.
Call me an old son of a gun or grandpa, but I binged watched the original āFugitiveā with David Janssen over the weekend on the āDecadesā channel. Loved that show when I was a kid. A&E used to rerun it in the mid-90s. After seeing it then and over the weekend, itās amazing to me how many great character actors and future TV starts got their start on that show. This weekend I saw Wiliam Shatner AND Scotty the Engineer in separate episodes. Also featured when they were young was Robert Duvall, Angie Dickenson and Greg Morris. Years ago I saw episodes with Beau Bridges (multiple appearances) and the very young Kurt Russell, before he became a Disney star.
You donāt have to be liberal to love West Wing. Even conservatives should appreciate the brilliant writing, acting, characters, and story lines.
I just finished Prison Break. Canāt recall any show going from so good to so bad so fast. First two seasons were edge of seat. By final season 4, it was so absurd and preposterous that it was almost unwatchable.
It is extra great if you are a liberal though.
Iām not a liberal, and I think itās the greatest TV show of all time.
Okā¦I just finished Bloodline. That show is intense. I got shivers down my spine after each episodeā¦ In a scared way. I need to restā¦until next season.
Kyle Chandler does a great job. I donāt know who the actor is who plays Danny. He is awesome too.
I just finished Bloodline as well. Great acting all around.
I think Iām going to start Mr. Robot next.
