the reality of getting deferred is they met a quota with available to admit and presumably did even review your application, so everyone remember it wasn’t you or your stats if they didn’t want you they would have declined off the bat

Thanks…someone here commented that if you haven’t gotten in by this point you will be deferred, but I am not sure what they were basing that on.
It’s a program where NYC high school seniors can earn college credits by taking a college class at one of the CUNY schools here.
People here do not work at Binghamton and just giving their opinions, while well intentioned, they should not be taken as fact. I don’t think anyone really knows what Admissions Offices for any of these schools will do year after year. Seems like alot of variance year to year if you look at past year’s admissions threads.
My opinion (not fact, just opinion) is the way the Christmas week came so quickly after Thanksgiving (late Thanksgiving in 2019) the admissions decisions seem to be behind where they seemed in years past. Alot of people likely took time off and there’s always wind down time before and after holidays in any office setting. So not alot of work gets done before and after these breaks.
If you’re kid has the stats and a good application, they’ll likely get in now (or later).
Good luck!
Bottom of my page today. Hoepfully I’ll be accepted today been waiting for this day for so long lol
