Got into Binghamton!!! Wasn’t my first choice, but was my first reply! I was even selected for the Presidential Scholarship!!! Total of $54,000 over the 4 years of undergrad.

Here are the stats :

1490 SAT

NO ACT

Amazing recommendation letters ( teachers were too busy and told me to write my own, so I wrote a stellar recommendation for myself. I have really good writing skills )

IGCSE Chemistry, Physics, and Maths A*, Biology A, and English C

Little to none extracurriculars, because of a lot of moving around

I think I got in mostly because of my SAT, 10th grades, and recommendations

You “wrote you’re own recommendation letters??!!”
Not sure we did this right, but thought it was supposed to blind to the student. One of my sons teachers said he would send it to him for review and he had to tell him not to per the college board policy. I think he signed/checked a box that he had not seen it.
Did you tell them YOU wrote it?

All schools, not just Binghamton, are likely to view certain aspects of your post as a violation of the affirmations you signed and revoke your admission.

" * I certify that all information submitted in the admission process — including this application and any other supporting materials — is my own work, factually true, and honestly presented, and that these documents will become the property of the institution to which I am applying and will not be returned to me. I understand that I may be subject to a range of possible disciplinary actions, including admission revocation, expulsion, or revocation of course credit, grades, and degree should the information I have certified be false."

" * I waive my right to review all recommendations and supporting documents submitted by me or on my behalf"

For people that got deferred and heard back again, are they still sending out decisions typically around 7:30 Tuesdays wednesdays and Thursdays?

My daughter heard Thursday evening but didnt see it until Friday morning.

Does anyone know how housing works? Is it first come, first served when applications open next month or is it just get in before the deadline and it is a lottery?

Wondering the same

Anyone get into Scholars Program?

We are also still waiting. Applied in mid December as well.

Based on my experience and knowledge, Scholars invites went out. In the past, some have come out later than the original batch based on yield rates.

My 2020 daughter was accepted into Scholars and my 2022 son was accepted also in early February.

DS was deferred EA from the business school. I feel like I haven’t seen many posts about acceptances to SOM. Have there been acceptances?

I applied in October and was deferred EA for business as well. I have not heard back yet

My son applied EA and was deferred. Still waiting as well.

It is based on when you put in your deposit.

Hi @Christine_Spencer - I called the other day and they said that it is NOT first come, first served but rather there would be tools available to registered students to start finding a roommate, etc. Maybe I will call again to re-confirm. Door/room allocations would come later on so no need to rush (is what they told me).

D22 applied RD for Harpur, have not heard back, neither have any of her friends at school. Anyone hear from Harpur?

Perhaps it changed from last year, my son is a freshman at Bing and that is what they told us on our tour.
