S22 just got accepted to Harpur for Spring 2023 with an option to go on a waitlist for Fall.
That’s what my D was offered. I wonder how that works with housing. She’ll take a bit to think about it but I don’t think that’s a great way to start as a Freshman. She has other great options to start in the fall so that will probably be the way she goes.
My son was offered BAP program as well. He is passing on this as well. good luck to everyone !
@JB481 - not sure this is answering your question but when we visited over the summer, there were a bunch of restaurants on Vestal Parkway which runs right past the front of the school. Downtown, I know there is a restaurant The Colonial but I am sure there are others. Also, there is the Vestal Plaza which is a strip mall between campus and downtown Binghamton. Also restaurants in Endicott, Johnson City, and Endwell.

Agreed, my S22 needs to think about it. He has some nice options too, I told him there is no rush he has some time to decide. I’m concerned as well with not starting with the rest of the freshman.
Yes for sure. First semester is important for a Freshman. Not attending orientation, all the clubs will already have been up and running. Who knows what the housing situation will be? Also registering for classes after those that started in fall is not desirable. If classes need to be taken in sequence, they might not even be offered in the spring. It could delay graduation…. If it was her #1 choice then maybe she would do it but I don’t think it’s worth it.

We are concerned about campus life here. Does anyone have a good sense of what the students do? We were hoping for a more urban location but it’s looking like vestal maybe our best choice. Do they offer trips to nyc or other options? Is there a strong Greek life here? Prefer if it was not…
I agree with all your points, it’s a lot to think about. It was his original first choice but over the last few months that changed. Gonna let him think about it for a bit.

My portal just changed! I’ll finally be getting a decision tonight (I’ve been waiting since I applied in October)

My “SAT/ACT” button has disappeared (now the “home” button is in the center and there are no other buttons) and my supporting documents have disappeared and only my transcript is present (a common sign for night of decisions for past people).
Rejected! But it’s okay. Just sucks that I had to wait so long smh
