new video about binghamton university (by binghamton university) -- YouTube - BinghamtonUniversity's Channel

it mentions that this fall's entering class was chosen from a record applicant pool of over 33,000 of which they admitted only 31%. for fall 2008, their admissions figure had been 39% http://www2.binghamton.edu/admissions/pdf/measuresofexcellence.pdf

I saw that, too. This represents a huge shift in how selective Binghamton is becoming. My HS had an acceptance rate of 70% to Binghamton University last year. This year, that number plunged to 49%! The number of applicants did not dramatically shift.

How hard is it to transfer into Binghamton now? and how much harder would it be to transfer into their SOM after I finish off my pre-reqs?

I heard Binghamton has always been “friendly” as far as accepting transfer students. I’ve also heard that it’s very, very hard to transfer into SOM if you were not admitted as a freshman. They are a highly-ranked business school, at an affordable price; few students leave SOM after accepting a seat there. For this reason they have very few transfer seats each year, and it isn’t rare for them to have virtually none.

So basically if you’re a business transfer student you’re ****ed? that really sucks
