I am interested in Binghamton for business. I know that their business school is very well ranked so I was wondering if it is harder to get into their business school than applying to Harpur (their arts and sciences school). I know that many schools look at an applicant based on what school they apply to, just asking if Binghamton is the same way. My stats are borderline (bit under) the average for Binghamton and if I am competing against even more competitive admissions standards, i probably don't have a great chance lol. Thanks!!

The rumors are true, the school of management (business) at Binghamton generally is harder to get into because it’s more competitive - they select fewer applicants. However, just because your stats may be borderline doesn’t have a shot. I know plenty of people in the SOM that had stats well below borderline. Also, binghamton could accept you to harpur rather than SOM when you apply if they do believe your stats are too low, but in the future you are always able to transfer schools and move to SOM. hope this helped!

OK that’s a little bit reassuring. Do you go to Binghamton? If so, how do you like it?

I also applied to SOM ea, just how competitive is it? I thought my stats would get me into bing (one of my top choices), but I think I’ve been deferred Would my chances have been greater if I applied to harpur instead of SOM?

What makes you think that you were differed? Also, why did you hear back already?? I thought binghamton let everyone know at the same time on the 23rd??

Accepted to school of management!!!
