I am planning on taking the pre-med track, while majoring in either chemistry or biochemistry, and maybe along with a major in economics. I was accepted to the Honors College and Pitt, and the Scholars Program and Freshman Research Immersion Program at Binghamton. Case Western(~40k with scholarship) is the most expensive, followed by Pitt(~30k with scholarship), with Binghamton(~25k, In-State) being the cheapest. My parents are willing to pay for all of these schools, but I don’t want to have to make them pay for a more expensive school when I would’ve gotten the same education and success with medical school admissions somewhere else. I liked the Pitt location and social life better, but at Binghamton(social life was still good, but location sucked) the Scholars Program and Freshman Research Immersion program both seemed incredible and offered more than the Pitt Honors College. I have not visited Case Western yet, but I don’t really want to stay in Cleveland for the next 4 years of my life. I am pretty sure that I can do well no matter where I go, but I think at Bing and Pitt it will be the easiest to stand out. I’ve read this many times, but does it really matter where you go for undergrad if you want to go to medical school? Also, do all of these schools give you the same opportunity to get into medical schools such as Weill Cornell, Columbia, NYU, etc.? (I want to go to medical school in the NYC area)
I would go with Pitt. It is an excellent school for the price.
