Binghamton's June, 18, orientation feebacks

Hey, Binghamton community. Today, I just attended the transfer orientation at Binghamton. and I found it extremely difficult to make friends. As an individual who is exuberant and effervescent, I tried to talk to some students, both males and females, but many of them are either sotical or have no sense of social skills. Many are also remotely immature, exibiting no sense of common attiquette. During the information fair, where faculty members were delivering a speech in regard to sexual violents and abuse, there are couples of students sitting next to me bladdering on about sex and video games. I understand they may be young, but at least show some reverences to those around you. A staff even have to stop by our table to tell them be quiet several times. The ladies are also not very open. They tend to keep to themselves, and because I ask a lot of question during the general advising, they gave me the stink eye.

In terms of diversity, forget it; the student body is predominently categorized as caucasion, with many of whom from long Island, in particular. Campus is so-so. Visting the campus has allowed me to switch my housing preference from College in the Wood (CIW) to Mountainview - it isn't what it is portrayed in the youtube video I saw. As I am typing this, my computer is dying becasue the damn charger in the University Union isn't working. ~_~

Best, David

Sorry that your orientation did not go well. My son is going next week. Hopefully, this won’t be a reflection of how your experience will be as a whole!
