I'm looking at taking Bio 121 next semester. I have not taken AP Bio and barely remember biology. Would that put me at a disadvantage when taking the class? Is taking Bio 121 spring semester a lot easier? Or would I be better off taking Bio 101 fall semester?

if you do the work you should be fine

interestingly the bio 121 book was my old ap bio book...

i would wait and take 101 esp if you are premed and/or not a bio or other science major

true, 101 is definitely easier than 121

I might maybe want to do computational biology maybe for a major, and 121 is required for it. Really, it's either do bio 121 or chem 102 because I'm a premed and want to keep on track

woah comp bio? there's what, 3 / 4 people in that per year?

chem 102 is probably easier than 121, but you really shouldn't have trouble with either.

You don't want to do computational biology as a major. Trust me. It may look sexy, but it's pre-pubescent. And you don't want to be labeled as a pedophile, do you? Do bio or do cs. Take the specific classes you want, and still graduate with a substantive degree. Comp bio's more of a minor at this point.

I want to do the math route maybe. I'm just too much of a wuss to do a straight math major. I figure I can get out of some upper level math requirements with bio classes that semi interest me. I also have a friend who wants to major in it, so I won't be alone.

but if chem 102 is an easier class, maybe I'll just do that. I just really wanted to see if I would benefit at all by taking bio off season.
